National Qualifying Scores for Eventing Champs

ENTRY CRITERIA FOR AREA EVENTING SELECTION A3.1

Must abide with Rule 11 of these regulations.

A3.2 National Qualifying Standard (NQS):

All Riding Members are required to achieve 2 NQS’s at the division entering (or above) in the previous 12 months, or 3 NQS’s in the 24 months preceding the Championships. The exception is A1 can also complete 1 NQS at 110 (or above) and 2 NQSs at 105 within the past 12 months.

A3.2.1 A NQS is achieved by completing an Eventing competition within the following minimum performance parameters:

• not less than 50 percent in the Dressage Test; and

• not more than 30 penalties at obstacles on the Cross-Country Test, and

• not more than 90 seconds exceeding the optimum time in the Cross-Country Test; and

• not more than 16 penalties in the Jumping Test.

A3.2.2 There are no dispensations for NQS’s.

A3.2.3 Areas CANNOT place any additional requirements on riders seeking selection.

A3.2.4 Riders 14 years old may compete above their level provided they comply with ESNZ Rules of Eventing Article 614.1.5. and Article 633 Minimum Requirements for Horse and Athlete.

A3.2.5 Express Events cannot be used as NQS’s.
