Simon Bennett has been on the NZPCA board since 2018. He comes from a family who has been immersed in the Pony Club movement for many years with father, Keith Bennett, a 20-year member of the old Committee of Management and the family farm in the Manawatu, hosting the Pony Club eventing Championships on two occasions and having a Pony Club cross country on the farm for 48 years. Simon is passionate about all levels of equestrian sport with involvement in many disciplines from show jumping, eventing, polo, hunting and even being a “horse holder” at dressage. Starting Pony Club at age eight, Simon is acutely aware that the Pony Club movement relies on volunteers and needs great coaches to develop our young riders while creating a fun environment. With a 30-year plus career in sales, marketing and general management, Simon brings a business skill set to the NZ Pony Clubs Association board.

The Board welcomes Kelly as a new appointed member to the NZPCA Board. Kelly was fortunate as a young rider to participate in pony club and earn her C+ certificate. Up until recently, she has been on the committee of her local pony club, dedicating nearly 10 years of service and holding the head coach role for 3 of those years. Currently, her children are attending pony club, allowing her to maintain a hands-on involvement. With her recent registration as a ESNZ National Level 1 Show Jumping course designer, Kelly contributes to pony club events through this avenue. Her personal strengths include being a big picture thinker, thriving on problem-solving, and believing in finding solutions for challenges. She values open conversations, even when they're difficult, and strives to infuse fairness and responsibility into her decision-making process.
