NZPCA EXAMINERS

Certificate examinations are an important part of the Pony Club journey. They give members clear goals, encourage learning and recognise progress through the Certificate pathway.

Examiners play an important role in ensuring examinations are consistent, supportive and delivered to NZPCA standards.

Examiner Clinics provide an opportunity to develop or refresh your examining skills, strengthen your understanding of Certificate requirements and learn alongside other coaches and examiners.

Depending on the clinic being offered, training may include:

• D, D+ and/or C Level examiner training
• C+ Level training for new and updating C+ Examiners
• B Level training for C+ Examiners upgrading to B and current B Examiners updating

Clinics are practical and interactive, with opportunities to develop questioning and examining skills, discuss Certificate standards and expectations, and build consistency across examinations.

Examiner Clinics are primarily for:

• Current Examiners requiring refresher or update training
• Aspiring Examiners
• Coaches interested in developing their examining skills and strengthening their understanding of Certificate standards
• Coaches involved in preparing riders for Certificate examinations

You do not need to be a current examiner to attend. However, all participants are expected to actively participate in examiner training activities.

Where applicable, C+ or B Technical Delegates may also attend a clinic.

C+ and B Examiners must update or upgrade within five years through an NZPCA Examiner Clinic to remain current on the NZPCA C+ and B Examiners Database.

NZPCA-funded Examiner Clinics are hosted by Regions and supported by NZPCA.

National Coaches may conduct Examiner Clinics at all levels, while Association Coaches may conduct clinics up to C+ level.

Clinics are funded annually and rotate around New Zealand, giving Regions the opportunity to host them as part of the four-year rotation.

NZPCA funded Examiner Clinics are held annually and rotate around the country, with every Region having the opportunity to host on a four-year cycle.
