Pony Club at a Riding Centre

No pony?

No problem.

Join Pony Club at an NZPCA affiliated riding centre and learn to ride and care for horses on their school horses.

Your rider works through the same certificates and badges as every Pony Club rider in New Zealand.

Why start at a centre

No horse needed

Riders use the centre's school horses and ponies, so you can find out if your child loves it before you think about buying.

Real progress

Lessons follow the NZPCA certificate syllabus and achievement badges, so riders always know what's next.

Safety first

Tagged helmets, a gear check every session, and horses matched to

Part of something bigger

Centre riders can enter virtual competitions, apply for international teams, Quiz, A and H exams and the NZPCA national awards.

How it works

    Find a centre

Search for an NZPCA affiliated centre near you and see what each one offers.

    Talk to the centre

Ask about their Pony Club sessions, times and lesson fees, and book in.

    Join Pony Club

Register as a centre member on Nominate. Your centre will help you with this.

    What your rider can do

    • Work through Pony Club certificates and achievement badges
    • Enter Virtual Dressage and Virtual Jumping from their centre
    • Compete in Quiz and apply for International Teams
    • Sit A and H exams
    • Be nominated for NZPCA national awards
    • Join a Pony Club if they get their own pony, keeping the same certificates

    What it costs

NZPCA centre member levy: $ 55 a year

    From 1 May 2027: $60 a year

Lessons and activities: Set by each centre

NZPCA insurance doesn't cover centre members.

Please ask your centre about its insurance cover.
