Event Coordinators - Two Contractor Opportunities

New Zealand Pony Clubs Association is seeking capable, organised and collaborative event coordinators to support the delivery of our national events programme.

We are recruiting for two separate independent contractor roles. Applicants are welcome to apply for one role or both.

Role 1: Championships Week Event Coordinator

This role will lead the administration, coordination and logistical planning for NZPCA Championships Week in January 2027. It will work across the full event programme and alongside National Office, the host, discipline convenors, officials, volunteers, competitors and team managers.

Role 2: National Events Coordinator

This role will initially coordinate the NZPCA Eventing Championships and Zone Games. There is also potential for the portfolio to include virtual events and other agreed national event projects in the future.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Turn a large event into a clear project plan, timeline and manageable set of actions.
  • Keep people informed, follow up deadlines and build positive relationships with volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Manage entries, communications, records, budgets and event administration accurately.
  • Anticipate issues, use sound judgement and stay calm when priorities change.
  • Work independently while reporting clearly and regularly to the NZPCA Chief Executive.
  • Support safe, well-organised events that reflect the values of Pony Club.

Experience in event coordination, project management or senior administration is important. Knowledge of Pony Club or equestrian sport would be helpful, but is not essential. Confidence using digital systems is required, and experience with Nominate would be an advantage.
