NZPCA EXAMINERS

Certificate syllabus exams are a key part of the Pony Club journey. They give members clear goals, encourage learning, and help track progress at every level.  As an examiner, you play a key role in ensuring these exams are fair, supportive, and aligned with Pony Club values.

Whether you're an experienced examiner, just starting out, or supporting members, NZPCA’s Examiner Clinics are designed to build confidence, skill, and consistency across the country.

Each clinic may include one or more of the following each day:

• D, D+, and/or C Level Examiner training

• C+ Examiner training (for new and updating C+ examiners)

• B Examiner training (for upgrading from C+ and updating B examiners)

You’ll get hands-on learning, guidance from experienced coaches, and a chance to ask questions and build networks.

These NZPCA-funded Examiner Clinics are designed to support and upskill:

• Examiners who are just starting out or already experienced

• Anyone interested in becoming an examiner

• Officials, parents, supporters, or members from aged 16 who want to understand the certificate sysllabus system

• Current examiners (to stay updated)

• Technical Delegates (TDs) needing to meet update requirements

• Lapsed B Examiners (must attend a C+ level clinic to return to the register)

All examiners must attend a clinic at least once every five years to stay current.

C+ and B examiners attend these clinics (run by the Area with input from National or Association Coaches) to gain or maintain their qualification. Their names are then listed on the official NZPCA Examiners Register.

At D and C levels, clubs and branches are responsible for identifying and supporting examiner training—with National Coaches available to help guide the process where needed.

​​​​​​​Spaces are limited, with priority given to current examiners and those wanting to upskill and become examiners.

NZPCA funded Examiner Clinics are held annually and rotate around the country, with every Area having the opportunity to host on a four-year cycle.
