May 2026 District Commissioner Role
At present, some Job Descriptions and Regulations still reflect the previous structure where the District Commissioner had a defined role.
These documents are being updated.
Under the new Constitution, the President is the named governance role and leads the Club. The DC role does not sit above or alongside the President in authority. Looking forward, the DC role is transitioning. While the functions such as signing off, dispensations, and entries still need to occur, these may sit with the President, supported by the Head Coach and Committee, or be delegated as appropriate.
In the interim, Clubs may retain a DC-type role as a committee position for operational support, provided it is clear that governance sits with the President and Committee. There is no need to hold an SGM to make this adjustment.
