What is Quiz?

Quiz is a fun, engaging, and educational discipline that tests riders’ equestrian knowledge across a range of topics—from horse care and gear identification to rules, terminology, and team challenges. Whether it’s learning through Kahoot, solving word puzzles, or identifying tack and feeds, Quiz is a brilliant way to bring Pony Club learning to life—no horse required!

Why is it Important?

​​​​​​​Quiz develops confidence, teamwork, and deep equestrian understanding in a relaxed and playful environment. It supports riders of all ages and stages, is easy to deliver at Club level, and offers pathways to national and international opportunities, like our NZPCA Quiz Team’s recent experience at the PCIA International Quiz in 2024.

NZPCA is currently developing our own national Quiz rules and handbook to ensure alignment with Pony Club values, welfare standards, and future competition pathways.

In the interim, events will operate under the Australian Pony Club Quiz Rules and Handbook, with NZPCA-specific updates and guidance to follow once the national framework is complete.
