Training and Development Lead. Paid- Full time, Location negotible
The New Zealand Pony Clubs Association is a not-for profit youth training Organisation with over 8500 members and 200 Branches nationwide. It is managed by a small, high achieving team. Head Office is based in Taradale, Napier and is the hub for all NZPCA operational activities. This role could be based either at head office or work from home and includes some domestic travel from time to time.
The role of the Training and Development Lead is to assist the Board and Chief Executive in the development and delivery of strategic outcomes of the NZPCA relating to coaching and training, and to manage projects funded under Sport NZ Community Sport. Also, to support coaches and committees within the NZPCA with resources and learning opportunities in line our vision and mission. An ability to communicate and work with the resource within the organisation and volunteer network is essential to achieving outcomes across the national footprint.
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with:
Demonstrable project management skills and experience
Reasonable knowledge of equestrian sport
Strong organisational skills
A team player and an excellent communicator
Commercial acumen managing budgets and funding applications
Experience in sport management and/or coaching
Understanding of NZPCA structure and objectives
Develop and manage upskilling opportunities for coaches and riders, in line with NZPCA strategic outcomes, including all projects relating to SportNZ funding.
Review and deliver the Equestrian Coaches Training Programme (ECTP) to ensure it remains current, fit for purpose and encourages maximum participation.
Develop digital platforms for delivery of resources and e-learning.
Coordinate the A and H examinations as required.
Support Coaches and Administrators at all levels of the organisation.
Assist the Chief Executive in the delivery of the operational objectives of the Education and Development Committee and its project teams.
Ensure all administrative records are kept up to date using digital tools.
Produce and distribute a coaching e-newsletter.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with all Members, Staff and external stakeholders.
Pro-actively seek new opportunities to improve delivery of all training and development programmes.
As a training organisation, this role is critical to the progression and success of NZPCA. The organisation will conduct a thorough process to find the skills and experience necessary. The role has recently been re-scoped and is now vacant.
