The Pet N Sur Pony Club Academy is your chance to step up!
Whether you’re keen on riding, coaching, sports management, or working in the equine industry, this program will help you get there—with someone in your corner to guide you along the way.
The Pet N Sur Pony Club Academy is designed for members:
who are becoming leaders in their own sport
who want a lifelong multifaceted sporting experience
to build their self-confidence through simple, sustainable habits
overcoming limiting beliefs or thinking patterns
to open opportunities within the equine industries, locally and globally
There are emerging opportunities for members to:
establish the foundations of coaching, or
learning the tools required in sports and event management
gain momentum on the athlete performance pathway
What's included?

This is a 6-month, part-time course, requiring around 3 hours per week with a mix of structured and flexible learning.
If you need to postpone, you’ll have up to 2 years to complete all requirements.
Minimum learning hours:
✔ 1 pillar: 52 hours
✔ 2 pillars: 78 hours
✔ All 3 pillars: 100 hours
This allows you to learn at your own pace while staying on track.
Minimum age 15 as of 1 st May 2025 until the end of the season, during which they reach the age of 26, the season being from 1 August until 31 July.
To join, you must be a current financial member of NZPCA and follow the working rally rules outlined in the NZPCA General Regulations.
Ideally, you should have a minimum C Certificate or be willing to achieve it within the course timeframe. You should also be motivated to continue progressing towards your C+ Certificate and beyond.
Participants must have access to a computer and an internet connection for online learning.
