NZPCA
Fair Play Charter
In October 1993 Ann Roke accepted on behalf of the NZPCA, from Waimarama Taumaunu, a framed Fair Play Sports Charter of New Zealand. It reads:
We at our club agree that when playing sport we will:
- enjoy ourselves
- play within the rules
- respect the referees and umpires
- respect the opposition and their supporters
- be gracious winners and dignified losers
- play hard but play fair
Pony Club is regarded by the Sport and Recreation NZ (SPARC) as one of the leading national sports organisations, and we hope to keep it that way. It is pleasing to see areas, clubs, branches and individuals joining the charter and upholding the ideals of our movement. The NZPCA has created its own Fair Play charter, one that is specific to the goals of Pony Club. This requires members to:
- undertake to uphold the principles of good sportsmanship and fair play
- act within the spirit and intention of the rules respect instructors, judges and officials
- respect other riders and their supporters
- respect their horses and care for their welfare
- be gracious winners and dignified losers
- play hard but play fair, and play to enjoy our sport
Congratulations to all Areas, Clubs and Branches - you are now all registered. If you have misplaced your Fairplay Charter, please contact the Executive Officer, for a replacement copy.
