Murchison Pony Club
Hi, welcome to the MPC web-page. We are a small club with a more than 50 year history in the Murchison area with the first rally held in 1955.Over the years many riders have attended the club and gone on to compete at high levels, or simply enjoyed the benefits of learning riding skills and pony care, thanks to the dedication of local instructors, clubs committees and supporters.
The club currently has an enthusiastic group of riders attending rallies on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.
Rallies are usually held at the MPC grounds at the Murchison Domain, starting at 1pm or at 10am during daylight saving months.
Coming rallies and meetings are advertised in the Murchison News, along with other club news.
As a stand-alone club, and because of its geographical distance from other equestrian activities, MPC supports any riding acitvities that encourage children to ride, so long as it is done safely.
Our members not only take part in rallies, but attend treks, PC camps, western camps and events, endurance and trail rides, and games events.
We welcome any inquiries and prospective members may attend three rallies before joining. Please phone/fax Bron McKenzie, (see below) for more information. We look forward to meeting you and your equine friend.

Inquiries/apologies to
Bron McKenzie, sec, ph 5239 338
My apologies for the lack of news and
get-togethers lately, however members can
be assured that your club is working hard
on your behalf.
It was fantastic to see our 4 riders
- Pilate, Virginia, Renee and Rimu - compete at
West Coast Trophy recently
and come home with a big 4th ribbon.
They all conducted themselves well and
gave it their best - well done! This event
followed on from a successful camp at
Kinzett's property during the holidays.
We are very grateful to Kate and Dallas
for the use of their woolshed, their grass
and facilities, and not to forget the possum!
We are also thrilled to have received the
full amount of funding needed to go ahead
with building an All-Weather Surface Arena
at the west end of our grounds.
Completion of
this facility will see a long term dream fulfilled
for the club, and create a fantastic working area for
the young (and mature) riders in our community.
