Resignation
We have received the resignation of our President John Brownlee.
This position is to be filled by our Vice President Rob Fluit.
John and his wife Kim have done an amazing job during their time with our club. In this time they have seen us shift from our old grounds in Halswell Domain to our fabulous new grounds we currently have. The club has built the fantastic clubrooms, and run a Springston Trophy, any of which on their own would have been a mission, but to do all concurrently was nothing short of amazing. These feats have seen our membership swell from barely being viable, to one of the strongest clubs in Canterbury, certainly as all the titles that our club currently holds is testament to.
John will remain in the position of District Commissioner of the Christchurch Pony Club, which is our immediate governing body, so all his valuable knowledge and skills will not be lost, just used for the good of a greater number of people.
John will remain in place on our committee to oversee the smooth transition of this role. We welcome Rob to the helm, and although these are big shoes to fill, we are sure he will do well with the support of the present committee.

  Eventing information Booklet
  The club has some of these booklets is anyone would like one. They are $5.00 each.

  Uniform
  Pony Club Uniform is acceptable to wear at Pony Club ODE’s.
  Pony club members should be proud to wear their uniform and not feel they have to have a riding jacket etc for dressage and show jumping. Note Halswell PC uniform is the red jersey, white shirt and black and red tie for dressage, show jumping and prize giving. The rugby jersey is acceptable for XC only.
  In restricted PC show classes it is NOT correct riders to wear jackets. PC jerseys are correct and children should be proud to display their PC colours. Long boots on children on ponies are NOT acceptable. Long boots are for adults or those on hacks only. This also applies to gaiters, as they are a substitute for long boots. Gaiters are also only allowed if they are fully made of leather. Suede gaiters and ½ chaps are not allowed at competition, and are discouraged at PC rallies. Know the difference between gaiters and ½ chaps when purchasing.
  Please also note that dressage attire is required at prize giving. If rider is not dressed in correct dressage uniform (pony club jersey or jacket and tie) they may be denied their prize.

  Farewell and Thankyou
  A huge big thankyou and farewell to Sue Walsh. Sue has given very generously of her time to instruct at pony club, even when her own girls have moved past the club. Sue and Chris have also given very generously of their business Walsh Meats and supported many sausage sizzles (so if you have particularly enjoyed the fabulous sausages we have, then you know whose name to look for!!). Sue will continue to play a role in the club, but has resigned from her instructing role.

  New Members
  We have had an influx of new members, which is great. We welcome to our club Charlotte Wadsworth, Jantine Vlaanderen, Kelly Lancaster and Petrea Parkhill. Please make yourself known to these people, and make them feel welcome when you see them.
